Tri tacos … Soda Café is located right opposite North Beach on West Coast Drive. It’s a great place to sit and watch the sun go down. There is also has some pretty interesting food on offer.

Met up with some friends to try Soda Café. We were greeted at the door, shown to our Table and offered menus and water. Our server came back a short time later and read out the specials of the day. In short, they were on the ball and kept an eye on us.

They have a really good wine list and we opted for a glass of the house Sparkling Wine. The wine was such great value at $6.00 a glass and an extremely quaffable fizz.

I decided on the Tri Tacos of Chicken Mole, Pulled Pork and Fish. Because I’m not a Pork eater they happily swapped the Pork for another Chicken Taco. And, this dish was great, house made soft tacos, beautiful chicken mole and battered fish with crunchy salad.

Xena kept eyeing off my Chicken Mole, so eventually I gave her half a taco. She was enthusiastic about the flavours and the heat in the sauce and kept eyeing off the other half.

Xena chose Fish and Chips and said they were really good, not greasy, light batter, and firm fish. The chips were crunchy and had some seriously good salt, yum.

So, everyone at the table enjoyed their meals and agreed that the service was excellent. It was because of that discussion we felt unsure why people wouldn’t like this place.
