High Quality High Tea … Love the décor in the Firewater Grille at the Duxton Hotel. It’s very modern and streamlined with lots of windows instead of walls. It’s light and airy and a good place to sit and eat some delicious food.

The high tea in the Firewater Grille is high quality. No stale sandwiches or yesterday’s cakes here. And, believe me that is what is served at some High Teas we’ve been to. I understand that the food is made fresh according to reservations, which are essential.
So impressed with the variety and quality of the food. We were presented with a three tier stand with Scones Jam and Cream and Muffins on the top tier. Delicious looking biscuits and tarts on the middle tier. And, really fresh sandwiches on the bottom tier.
The price of the High Tea included a glass of Domain Chandon from the Yarra Valley. A very nice tipple indeed for an Australian Sparkling Wine. Also included was unlimited coffee and tea.
So, the staff were very generous with their time. Replenishing water and clearing empty plates. Also topping up teapots and asking if we needed anything else. It was nice to be fussed over and it wasn’t intrusive in any way.
The experience was extremely pleasant.
