Exploring Our History … Sundays are days where I like to take a drive. And end up somewhere like the Mundaring Weir Hotel. Not really for the food but to soak in the nostalgia of the area or the building we are visiting. Toodyay is a place that is ripe with old buildings and we visit often. They also have a nice café culture going on. York is another place steeped in history. But today it’s back to Mundaring. And, those wood fired pizzas.
Mondo Di Carne, 824 Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley WA 6050, Phone 9371 6350.
Mondo Pies … Mondo Di Carne is primarily a Butcher Shop. They sell a large variety of Meats. Think Veal, Turkey, Wagyu Beef, Hams etc. It’s the place that most people head to around the Festive Season. To stock up on their Stuffed Turkey, Turkey Rolls and Glazed Hams.
Baguette Me Not, Location Varies, Phone 9381 4410.
Banh Mi Goodness … Baguette Me Not is a Market Stall and they specialise in Franco-Vietnamese Fusion food. We came across them at the Victoria Park Farmer’s Market. Their stall had a big queue. So we joined the queue to see what the fuss was about.
Mo:Mo’s Cafe, 59c Walter Road West, Dianella WA 6059, Phone 6114 6708.
Surprised … Drove by Mo:Mo’s Cafe and was surprised it was a cafe again. Previously there was a cafe and then a massage place. Intrigued by their sign saying the café produced Nepalese food, I decided I had to try some.
