Mondo Pies … Mondo Di Carne is primarily a Butcher Shop. They sell a large variety of Meats. Think Veal, Turkey, Wagyu Beef, Hams etc. It’s the place that most people head to around the Festive Season. To stock up on their Stuffed Turkey, Turkey Rolls and Glazed Hams.
Mondo Di Carne were the first to have a Saturday Market behind their shop in Inglewood. Where, I believe, Marcelita’s Enchiladas first started their business.
Vince Garreffa, the man behind Mondo Di Carne, is the instigator of the successful Inglewood on Beaufort Markets. They are into their second season and it’s going down remarkably well with the locals.
I’ve been a customer for a long time but hadn’t been into the Shop for a number of years. So was surprised to see the changes they had made.
There are now take home meals to purchase from the refrigerated section. And, they have a kind of mini gourmet supermarket, as well as fresh eggs and Artisan bread. My favourite section was the house made pies and pastries.
So I wasted no time in purchasing a chicken pie and this was a good pie let me tell you. Juicy Chicken with vegetables in a buttery sauce, topped off with crunchy pastry and browned to perfection. A new favourite.
