Subidoo Bar and Restaurant – CLOSED

Standard

Subidoo, 483 Hay Street, Subiaco WA 6008, Phone 9381 6278.

Buttermilk Chicken … On walking into Subidoo I felt the ghost of the Oriel Cafe still in place. The long bar is still present and has been enhanced by loads of greenery and a new design.

Subidoo

Great Old Building

The cafe has a light and airy feel to it though and the verandah seating is reminiscent of a certain Singapore hotel. The overall feel of the place is very impressive.

The staff were all smiles and quick to seat us, so they were earning kudos from the outset. Menus and Water were delivered promptly.

There were a few of us so we ordered Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Fish Tacos, a Salad and some Shoestring Fries to share.

The Fish Taco was brilliant, really fresh with its “green slaw” and salsa verde. The salad and fries were great as well. But the star of the show was the Buttermilk Chicken, very tender goujon style chicken with a buttery batter and an impressive chilli aioli.

This place also offers the bonus of reasonable prices and attentive service. They are also licensed and their wine list is very reasonably priced as well.

We will definitely be eating here again.

Apparently Subidoo CLOSED in 2016.

  1. Subidoo closed in 2016.

Rice Baby has opened in its place. This is the sister restaurant to Miss Chow’s in Claremont. Their signature dish is their dumplings.
