Teriyaki Tofu Bento … Wow. Just reading some of the reviews about Shimizu Watertown made me double check the name of the cafe I had lunch in recently. Those reviews bear no resemblance to the place we visited.
The cafe is meticulously clean and has a great black and red themed decor. It was good to note that the staff were very friendly and the service was quick.
So, we ordered the Teriyaki Tofu Bento box. This meal was presented very well and there was even a little jelly dessert included. Both the Tofu and the Teriyaki sauce were awesome, as was the salad, miso and Vegetarian Sushi. This was a big meal for around $12.00. Simply good food at a great price.
Most noteworthy is that they have a section at the counter where the chef makes all the food, out in the open for all to see. This place has my admiration because I think it’s brave to cook in front of your customers.
Oh, and the green tea in a pot was enough for about 4 cups each for two people.
So, when we visited, the place was packed and there were queues for tables. The Restaurant had a definite buzz which made our experience very pleasant. W will make a return visit for sure, as we really enjoyed the food.
