Tacos … Ah, a lovely lunch at La Cholita’s today with friends. There is something wonderful about being able to order small plates of delicious food. Rather than the tough decision of one large plate that you may not like. And, the Restaurant is doing small plates of delicious food well. Especially on the weekends, when they’re open for lunch.

La Cholita’s food and I are a good fit. It’s healthy, fresh and delicious. Which is always something we aim for.

I have some favourite Tacos; like Baja Fish with Chipotle Mayonnaise; Scallop, Cucumber Salsa and Avocado; Crumbed Prawn, Pickled Cabbage and Avocado. All presented on house made corn tortillas.

Not to forget to mention the Tuna, Chipotle, Avocado and Fried Leek Tostada. Made with Sashimi quality Tuna on house made flat corn chips.

Or, the three cheese Quesadillas with Jalapeño.

They also make a truly great Guacamole with crunchy house made wheat flour tortillas. Pure lime embellished goodness.

They even do dessert tacos. Think ice cream and chocolate ganache sauce wrapped in a house made tortilla.

Add a glass of icy Cava and you’ve won me over. With a good atmosphere and great service completing the picture.

The place is much more casual than I remember from my first visits. The server was so friendly and nothing seemed to be a bother.

Interesting Fact: On reading their Facebook I discovered they have imported a Tortilla machine from Mexico. The Machine takes a load of the work out of prepping and gives a quality to their tacos that a lot of places don’t have.
