The Bees Knees … The Twilight Hawkers Market in the City held an inaugural “Dessert Garden” section for the last few nights of the early 2015 Season. Xena and I thought this was a great thing to do. Nothing but desserts and about ten Food Stalls set up to tempt our taste buds. Yeah Baby.

Needless to say we sampled some of the wares on offer. For us, though, there was one that stood out from the crowd. The Honeycake.
It was great to see the stall again. We had sampled the Honeycake at the Fremantle Markets. Nice to see them closer to home.
Grabbed a slice to refresh my memory and the taste sensation came flooding back. Layer upon layer of delicious honey sponge and rich buttery caramel filling. Sensational. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, Xena grabbed half the slice. She doesn’t like to miss out on these things.
The recipe originated in Czechoslovakia. But the recipe they use now produces the best fusion of a centuries old recipe and the unique natural taste of locally sourced ingredients.
Regardless, the Honeycake is fabulous.
