Fresh Pasta … Read a review about Tommy Sugo’s Subiaco Cafe but being a Pop Up Café it was closed that day, so Xena and I decided to try the Nedlands Kiosk. The courtyard area of Broadway Fair Shopping Centre is an open area Atrium, so kiosks and stalls are right in place there.
Tommy Sugo’s concept is to offer fresh house made pasta, with a variety of sauces, at a reasonable price. They also do coffee. The Kiosk itself is very cute. Service was with a smile and we didn’t have to wait too long for the meal.
There is a variety of seating available in the Atrium area and Tommy Sugo have their own separate seating as well. We adjourned to the seats with our food in tow.
Xena ordered gnocchi with Neapolitan sauce, for me it was gnocchi with pesto. Both dishes came in takeaway containers (a good idea if you can’t finish the meal) and both had a good dollop of parmesan cheese.
The gnocchi was a little chewy but had a good taste (they make it with corn flour, so it is gluten free), the pesto sauce was a little bland. Xena’s Neapolitan sauce was great. About half way through we swapped meals as the pesto became a little boring for me but Xena loved it. All in all it was value for money and will return to try the other pastas and different sauces.
