Inglewood On Beaufort – Night Markets

Standard

Inglewood On Beaufort, Beaufort Street, Inglewood WA 6051, 6.00pm – 9.30pm Every Monday Night of the Season.

Beaufort is the new Black … The Inglewood on Beaufort Markets are something else. There is a real sense of community at these markets. A chance for Inglewood Foodies and invited Mobile Foodies to show their wares and share the love. The number of local cafes and restaurants selling samples of their food on the pavement is a good example of that community. They’re embracing the Food Trucks and letting locals know they’re there too.

There’s a couple of unique things about the Inglewood on Beaufort markets. One is the size. The market stretches along three or four blocks of Beaufort Street. Oh, and I stopped counting at 50 food vendors.

Not all are Food Trucks some are smaller market stalls. Some have been around since the beginning like Kazz’s Caribbean Kitchen, Shak Shuka and Kamal’s Quarter. Favourites amongst Food Truck groupies like myself. No shame, I admit it readily.

Shak Shuka, Grilled to the Mac

The other unique thing is the number of people who turn up. Numbers have grown considerably since the first night of trade. Seems not only locals are flocking but stray foodies from all over Perth seem to have found their way to this Mega Market.

Xena and I wandered along up and down both sides of Beaufort to see what was happening. We came across a couple of new Food Trucks and decided to eat some food.

Guru Bites

Purchased a Channa Masala, an Indian Chickpea curry served with rice. Great to see they were offering both a small and a large serve.

As mentioned there were a load of cafés and restaurants offering their wares. There were a few stand outs for me. Miss Kitty’s Saloon whose Chef was cooking up a storm of Street Food on the pavement. A Fish called Inglewood were selling a variety of smallish Street Food items. And, their signature Fish and Chips. Golden Star BBQ Chinese Restaurant had Dim Sum and Take Home Meals. Impressive.

It’s a comfortable Market. The Event Management team have really thought about accommodating a slew of people wanting to sit down and eat. There are tables and chairs scattered and grouped all along Beaufort Street. Even businesses that aren’t food related put out chairs. Like I said the community spirit is high.
