Miss Chow’s Asian Eatery, Shop 119, Claremont Quarter, Claremont WA 6010, Phone 9383 3371.
Chinese Food 2 … Miss Chow’s breezed into Claremont Quarter rather quietly a few months ago. The quiet didn’t last long because everyone is talking about this Asian Eatery these days.
My initial interaction with staff was with the charming young man who seated me at the bar and made me feel right at home. With a place setting, water and menu appearing almost instantly.
The kitchen is housed behind glass and is open for all to see the dumplings and other food being made. There were also piles of steamer baskets waiting around to be filled. It’s a busy kitchen with lots of activity and interesting to watch.
As well as the kitchen for entertainment there was also the bar. Two of the bartenders were making cocktails and it was pleasant to watch the frothy pastel creations being made.
So, back to the food. Two Chicken Bao Sliders and an entrée serve of Prawn Wonton Parcels were ordered and arrived quite quickly.
The Wontons were very flavoursome and there was some heat in the mix. These crunchy little parcels with a spicy mayonnaise dressing on the side made for one very pleasant entrée.
So, the star of the show was the Chicken Bao Sliders. And, oh my the flavours were amazing. It was hard to identify all of them but the combination was certainly very suited to my palate. The owner confirmed that there was radish in the mix which added to the spiciness quite nicely. The chicken itself was succulent, juicy and tender.
Enjoyed my visit very much because not only was the food fabulous, the service and atmosphere were on point as well.
After a couple of return visits, Miss Chow’s is still on my list of favourite places to dine in Perth.
