Trudging slowly over wet sand … We made our way to Odyssea Beach Café for brunch. Newly built and newly opened the venue is right on the beach at City Beach. With a view to die for, the future looks bright for this Café. Oh, and there is a footpath, we just wanted a walk along the beach.
There was a queue, a very large queue but luckily my dining partner, Lissa, had arrived early. We were actually on the list for a table so things had progressed, queue-wise. Overall, I think the wait was about 15 minutes. The staff handled the large queue very well. No one seemed to be getting impatient.
On entering we were presented with a 180 degree view of the ocean. And, a light, bright and airy dining area that stretched full length along that spectacular view.
There is a beautiful bar with buckets of wine and champagne just waiting to be served.
But I digress, lets talk about the food.
We both ordered coffee and my cappuccino was amazing. Really strong, not much froth but it didn’t really matter as it tasted so good.
We both decided poached eggs was the way to go. Lissa ordered sides of avocado and bacon. For me it was a side of mushrooms. These were served with crusty sour dough bread which had been grilled on an open flame. Presentation wise it was okay.
My eggs and 1 side came in at $17.00. While Lissa’s eggs and 2 sides came in at $23.00.
Just a small side note, the owners of this cafe are the former owners of Metrio & Co in North Perth. We wish them well.
