Henry’s Rooftop Bar, The Reveley, Elizabeth Quay, Eastern Promenade, Riverside Drive, Perth WA 6000, Phone 6314 1350.
Spectacular Views … Henry’s Rooftop Bar is on the top floor of the Reveley complex in Elizabeth Quay. The three level complex has a café at ground level, a sophisticated restaurant in the middle and a funky rooftop bar which serves Bar Food. Oh, and that view is to die for. From Elizabeth Quay, through South Perth, through Kings Park and the Perth CBD. Wowsa.
Tbsp., 10 King William Street, Bayswater WA 6053, Phone 9371 9334.
A Different Perspective … Dined at Tablespoon or Tbsp. in April but didn’t delve into the Asian fusion side of the menu at all. The first visit had been to try the Kale Feta Scrambled eggs. This time Xena and I went along with our mind set on looking at Tbsp. from a different angle.
Divine Flute, Ballajura WA 6066, Phone 0430 490 250.
Divine Street Food … Divine Flute is a new, to us, Street Food vendor which we stumbled across at Crimea Canteen last night. They offer, in their words, Indianized Veggie Treats. There were things on the menu I’d kind of vaguely heard of but immediately decided we just had to try. Dosa and Vada stood out, so we ordered a dish that had both.
Chilli Panda, Suite 2, 137 Newcastle Street, Northbridge WA 6003, Phone 9228 2966.
Hunan Cuisine … Chilli Panda sits at the edge of the TAFE Precinct on Newcastle Street. This small Café strip caters to hundreds of students and offers up some pretty inexpensive meals. This is a Chinese Restaurant and the surprising décor is anything but Chinese.
Cottesloe Seaside Adventures, 12 Km South West of Perth CBD.
A Tale of Three Cafes … Baker Street Bakery – The Blue Duck Cafe – Amberjacks. Icy winds were blowing over Cottesloe Beach when I arrived. But I was rugged up for the weather so that was fine. Also, it seems that my timing was off for two of the three places on my list.
RoyAl’s Chicken And Burgers, 8 / 885 Albany Highway, East Victoria Park WA 6101, Phone 9355 0901.
It’s Time the Kale Were Told … Sorry, I should try another Smiths lyric. But for me, the visit to RoyAl’s Chicken & Burgers was all about the Super Food Burger and baby Kale. Of course I tried the Fried Chicken as well, how could you not.
The Guildford Hotel, 159 James Street, Guildford WA 6055, Phone 6336 9766.
After the Fire … The Guildford Hotel reopened a few months ago now. The Hotel was destroyed by fire in 2008 and all that was left was the shell. Being Heritage Listed (1886) it was a long journey for the owners to reinvent this beloved Hotel.
