Strolling Beaufort Street Monday Night we came across a couple of Street Food vendors that we just had to re-try / try. An oldie but a goodie, Marcelita’s Colombian Empanadas. And, new kid on the block Waffle Fusion.

A big favourite of ours and one of the original Street Food Vendors to brave Perth Streets. In fact, I’m pretty sure they got their start at Mondo Di Carne’s Saturday Mini Market. It’s nice to see they have a stall right next to their Mentor at this impressive Night Market.

So, we had to try their food again, it had been a while. And, the savoury potato empanadas were still amazing. Hand rolled by the crew as we watched. So much flavour, in such simple food, a delight to eat. Three large empanadas for $10.00, a good price, and room left to try other food.

Waffle Fusion
A new, to us, Street Food vendor and one that might be seeing a lot of us in the future. Market Mingling pays off once again.
Their approach to Waffles is a unique one. They decided that Gluten and Dairy Free, Vegan Friendly and Organic was the way to go. Which makes their Waffles a fairly healthy treat to enjoy.

For their “Sweet Dreams Waffles” they used Cacao Nut Butter, something I’d not tried before and it was yum. The crunchy waffles were topped off with fresh fruit, slivered almonds, walnut crumbs and coconut, the flavours were delicious. In fact, I would suggest that this dish is absolutely fabulous, not too sinful, not too large, not too small, just right. And, did I mention “no added sugar”.
