Chinta Cafe – Coffee Bar – Gift Shop

Standard

Chinta Cafe, 29 Scarborough Beach Road, North Perth, Phone 9242 8887.

Windmills of Your Mind … Chinta means reflection or meditation. These words perfectly describe this venue as it contains a myriad of furniture, murals and even a fish pond. As well as nooks, crannies and gifts that will get your mind into thinking gear. It’s a truly lovely café and one I would go back to just to sit and ponder.

A renovated Car Repair Garage

Chinta Café started life in Doubleview and made the move to North Perth only a few months ago. I drive past the venue often and it is always packed with customers.

Parking is a bit of an issue but if you don’t mind a walk it’s not a problem.

The breakfast menu isn’t very exotic, considering the moniker, but I was there for the eggs so that was not a concern.

So, the coffee arrived first and it was a strong, flavourful cup of java. Not too hot and nice foam. This could be my new early morning stop for a cappuccino.

The eggs looked pretty good and the yolks were a glorious yellow. There was some stand out sourdough toast and a side order of mushrooms, roasted I’d say. It was all good and made with care.

I arrived at 7.00am (don’t ask) and was one of only three other people in the venue. A very early hour but the staff were pleasant, despite the hour, the surroundings charming and the nosh was hearty.
