Ramen Lab – CLOSED 2018

Standard

Ramen Lab, Shop 36 / 602 Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley, Phone 9328 3946.

Serious Ramen Business … Ramen Lab recently opened on Beaufort Street. It is one of a limited number of places in Perth that make their own noodles in house. Xena and I zoomed off to test the waters.

The Café is very cute with eclectic seating, wooden furniture and flourishes of glam. I also noticed that the kitchen is open which means there is nothing to hide. Another good sign was how busy it was for a mid week lunch.

We both ordered the Char-Ramender and let me tell you this dish presented well.

It was great to see Kimchi Balls, Chicken Chashu and a really impressive soft boiled egg. The broth was pretty special as well, it was billed as Premium Chicken Broth and that’s exactly what we received. Yum.

So, it has to be said, the star were the Ramen noodles, perfectly al dente and chewy. In pride of place in the window is the Noodle Machine and those noodles definitely move this Ramen dish up a notch.

We ended up sitting right next to the condiment bar which had a variety of pickles and it was too tempting not to try them all.

There is a choice of Chicken or Pork Broths plus my favourites Bao and Takoyaki make an appearance. It’s a good menu and my dish was definitely worth the money.

Update November 2016:
So, Ramen Lab has added Chicken Teriyaki Bao to their menu. We tried them and they are pretty fab.

Very sad that Ramen Lab has closed it’s doors as I’m a big fan of their food.

The cafe is now “Seoul In” Korean food.
