The Chippery And Co, 246 William Street, Northbridge.
European Fish and Chips Bar … The Chippery and Co opened their doors in September and they haven’t looked back. They’re getting a lot of buzz in the media and it all appears to be good.
Northbridge is a multi cultural foodie haven with Chinese, Korean, Italian, Japanese, Malaysian food all on offer. In fact, name a cuisine you like and it will probably be in Northbridge. So, a European Fish and Chips style café is going to settle in very well.
What’s the European twist? Their speciality is a cone of chips topped off with mayonnaise. A very popular Dutch / Danish street food. But there are sliders, burgers, regular fish and chips and much more if the mayo isn’t your thing.
The Chippery And Co reside in an old refurbished building which is very twee and tiny with an area outdoors to sit in. They also offer Coffee.
As it was a hot day I opted for a glass of their house cucumber water and the Fish Slider.
I received a well presented plate of food, the fish in a Sourdough bun and piled high with salads and more. A little hard to eat but I managed with a knife and fork.
The tartare sauce with super crunchy pickle pieces stood out. As did the great carrot ribbons and cucumber salad. Really liked the batter on the fish, so crispy and tasty.
So, I enjoyed everything about the Slider it was made with love and assembled with care.
The Chippery & Co appears to have closed in 2017. If anyone has information about this I would appreciate it if you could let me know. Every time I’ve been in the CBD I’ve checked and it is never open.
