Don’t Forget The Pickle … Rockefeller officially opened yesterday and brought their New York Deli style food to Perth. Think stacked Pastrami, house smoked Salmon, proper dill pickles and dense, chewy bread.
Smoked Turkey Sandwich
Could not wait to try their food, so off I went. And, the place was packed, obviously the word was out that they were opening.
So, the venue is fully licensed which means Martinis and Cosmopolitans to go with your food. As well as a pretty good wine list and a wide variety of Beer.
Opted for a Smoked Turkey, Cranberry, Brie and Rocket sandwich. The Smoked Turkey was stacked high, tasty and very tender. There was Cheddar Cheese, no Cranberry but there was Mayo which appeared to have pickled onions finely diced in it. Opening day blues, yada, yada, yada.
My take: I enjoyed my sandwich, the bread was amazingly good, a dense chewy sourdough. Oh, and the house made potato chips had really good seasoning but there was no pickle.
I can forgive a lot of things but NO PICKLE? Oy Vey!!
