La Belle Sweets, 25B Gallipoli Street, Lathlain, Phone 9253 0848.
You Serve Me Up With Cake … La Belle Sweets is a tiny café which offers Coffee and Cake. Or Coffee and Croissants or Macarons or Chocolate Mousse Cake. All baked in house daily.
Their large commercial ovens and open kitchen are testament to the amount of baking that goes on at this venue. And, everything looks yummy.
There is one table inside and the rest are al fresco on the pavement outside.
Xena opted for an Iced Latte and for me it was a Cappuccino and both beverages were very pleasant and well engineered. Like the fact that my coffee was hot and strong and the Crema was brilliant.
So, Xena’s Matcha and Almond Croissant looked fabulous and the small piece I tasted was crunchy and full of flavour.
My Tartlet was pretty special and I admired the attention to detail. Which was mainly due to a hidden layer of crushed raspberries and bonus freeze dried raspberries on top. This delicate looking treat packed big flavours.
So, the only savoury items are a couple of types of quiche and sausage rolls.
The café is only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday to the public. I presume the rest of the time they are baking for cafes and restaurants.
