Affogato Gelateria, 148 Scarborough Beach Road, Mount Hawthorn.
Mambo Gelato … Ice cream makes me happy and gives me happy feet, i.e. I want to dance. Affogato is the dessert café of Spritz Spizzicheria Italiana and they sit side by side in Mount Hawthorn.
There is so much gelato in the display case that I was overwhelmed and it all looks fabulous. Decided that the Pistachio was for me and ordered a single scoop in a cup.
The best thing about this Gelato is that it is so smooth, seriously I’m not sure how they have done that. Smooth, creamy and a lovely nutty flavour won me over straight away.
Noticed they have a free-flowing Nutella Chocolate tap. So, it is possible to add the chocolate to your order. Didn’t indulge because I wanted to taste the Gelato but boy was I tempted.
After demolishing my single serve of Pistachio the Chef offered me a taste of the Strawberry Gelato. This was totally different to the pistachio, fabulous and very tart. Yum.
Apart from the Chocolate there is nothing else flashy on offer. Unlike other places there are no giant sundaes, no quadruple scoops and no fruit spears but frankly none of that was necessary.
This Gelato speaks for itself.
