Lost Time Is Not Found Again … There is a small list on my desk of places I’ve visited that don’t warrant a full review of their own. But they are interesting places each with their own story to tell. Here’s three from April.
The Queens Hotel, 520 Beaufort Street, Highgate, Phone 9328 7267.
It Feels Like Home To Me … Ah, fond memories of The Queens Tavern from way back. Hadn’t visited in a long while and Easter Sunday saw us heading to Highgate. Did I mention the all day $10.00 cocktails?
Lot Twenty, 198 – 206 William Street, Northbridge, Phone 6162 1195.
It’s All Happening … Had walked past Lot Twenty many times and didn’t pay it any attention. Then one day I stopped and looked through the fence and their secret garden caught my attention, big time. Fell in love with the place as I walked through the garden gates.
Toast, Jam, Dippy Eggs … Sprolo Specialty Coffee is an Australian / Asian fusion café in South Perth. Their signature dish is a traditional Singaporean Breakfast at $13.00. Fabulous sourdough toast, Kaya coconut jam and two poached eggs for dipping. Yum.
One Brief Moment In Time … Leederville said a quiet adieu to Thai Spice on Oxford. The restaurant was open only a short while and then like a flash of lightning it was gone. The good news is that Six Senses Gourmet Thai Restaurant has taken its place.
