Doric St Cafe Kitchen, 2 / 11 Doric Street, Scarborough.
Doors Unlocked And Open … Doric St Cafe Kitchen sits on Disbrey Park in Scarborough. The day we were there all their windows were open to the park. Very pleasant.
Inside is a charming decor with a small wall garden and a great coffee aroma pervades the air.
Lots of goodies on display in the food cabinet including ginormous house made sausage rolls and some beautiful looking cakes.
We ordered a Matcha Latte and a cappuccino to keep us going while we waited for the food. The Latte looked amazing and it wasn’t too strong which is sometimes the case with Matcha.
My cappuccino was excellent.
Xena couldn’t go past the Buttermilk Pancakes. And, on looking over the plate I could see why as they came with a blueberry and strawberry compote, vanilla mascarpone and maple syrup. Oh, and a bonus caramelised banana. My palate jumped for joy on tasting this dish, just lovely. Xena didn’t talk much for a while as she was too busy eating.
So, for me it was a plain and simple poached eggs with a side of Mushrooms. It came with some great quality rye toast and some pretty exceptional salt crystals. Love that new trend.
Not sure what they did to the mushrooms but there was a real depth of flavour to them. Exceptional. The egg yolks were almost orange in colour, cooked very well and tasted fabulous.
