I Want To Break Free … It’s been some time since I’ve felt claustrophobic in a Café. But, unfortunately, I experienced that feeling last week.
Ordered a coffee and it was pretty great actually, nice and strong with good Crema. Sat sipping my cup of Joe and admiring the many, many ladders in the pictures on the wall. Great idea.
I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Burger which was a homage to the Anchor’s Bar in Buffalo, New York. I’d not heard of the Bar but Buffalo Sauce now makes complete sense, being the town name and all. The burger sounded great albeit a bit pricier than I’d normally pay at $21 but I wanted to try that sauce.
According to the menu the burger came with a house-made juicy chicken patty, red onion, tomato, mozzarella and aioli. Plus the bonus of a brioche bun decorated with various seeds. Nice.
To cut a long story short the burger had no spicy relish, mozzarella or aioli. But it did have a slightly bitter back taste. And, there was an odd texture to the patty which resulted in it falling into pieces quite quickly.
The chips were actually really great and nicely seasoned.
I made my escape shortly after finishing under half of the burger, leaving the rest behind to its fate.
