The Bodhi Tree, was a large and very old Sacred Fig tree at the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya. The Shakyamuni Buddha who was born Siddhartha Gautama, a Prince, became enlightened after sitting under the Fig tree for seven days.

And, I must admit that the sense of serenity which pervades the space is very restful.
It doesn’t all end with books either as there are workshops like “Change Your Thoughts” and various meditation circles.
The menu was like a list of my favourite things. A lot of very healthy options, like lentil patties with salad.
Such a shame I couldn’t do justice to a large meal which meant I ordered Coffee and Cake instead.
So, the Carrot and Walnut Cake was moist, very fresh and topped off with cream cheese frosting scattered with apricot pieces and pepitas. It was amazingly delicious and so was the coffee.
