It’s The Way That You Do It … Jamie Oliver is proving yet again that he is no one trick pony. This week he added wood fired pizza to his menu and Perth is excited.
It’s funny because I was in the CBD for lunch last week and walking by Jamie’s saw the pizza oven being delivered. Taking note of the day I didn’t have long to wait until there were ads on Facebook touting their new addition.
So, this week I headed to Jamie’s to sample some of their wood fired offerings. Opted for a Pizza Margherita because that’s my benchmark, ahem, that’s my story anyway.
What I received was no ordinary pizza, it was plain yes but those little tomatoes were splashed with good quality EVOO. And, they were exceptional.
Top of the range buffalo mozzarella and hand grated Parmesan added a creaminess and a sharpness . Oh and the San Marzano tomato sauce, wow!
What can I say, loved that the crust was crunchy but still managed to have a chew to it. It’s true that every good pizza maker has a family dough recipe that has been passed down. Well this one is a keeper.
So, I also tried Jamie’s coffee for the first time and my short macchiato was perfectly strong and frothy. Can’t believe I haven’t tried their coffee before now.
