It’s all in the execution … Henry on Eighth Café and Bar had me at hello. The coffee aromas assured me I was going to enjoy my cappuccino. The subtle décor with its nod to Tudor life was pretty awesome as well.

Just For One Day … Tablespoon or “tbsp.” is a small café on the relatively barren Bayswater Café Strip. There are inklings of a massive stampede of chefs heading this way soon. But only inklings. I’ve been waiting for it to happen for at least five years.

Expertly Engineered Coffee … Early morning meeting in the City. Half an hour to go and in desperate need of a coffee. My nose picked up a pleasant aroma just as I came across a rather long line of people queuing for coffee. Always a good sign, so with a leap of faith, I joined the queue.

Bellissimo Cappuccino … Today saw me visiting the EnEx100 Mall in the City again. It was early, I was tired and the need for coffee won me over. There are quite a few coffee shops in this Mall, so who to choose?

Breakfast in Bassendean … The buzz about Holly Raye’s is exciting, although we are a little late to the party. It’s a tiny café just off the strip but it is bustling. Obviously the word has been out for a while that the food is good. About time we paid a visit then.

Foodie haven … Having walked past Food For Me quite a few times I decided it was time to try their wares. There was a bit of an ulterior motive because we were hunting caramel slices. Having already lucked out at two other cafes this was our last attempt.

Like Jack Horner, In The Corner … New Norcia Bakeries Café in Mount Hawthorn has been open since the 1990’s. It’s a cheery café loaded with bread and baked goods of all kinds. Oh, and Chicken Pies.

Delicious Treats … Our first visit to Francois was a successful venture. The cafe is tucked away in the space that was used for the Leederville Farmers Market. The actual entrance is in the carpark opposite Duende.

Eclairs … Nice vibe on entering Lawley’s Bakery Café in Wembley Downs. The café is a lot more modern than the Mount Lawley one. It’s all glass and black furniture. And, instead of a bustling café strip it’s in a quiet surburban shopping centre.
