More Rolls than a Pastry Truck … Baker Et Chef or Baker and Chef opened quietly on the Eastern end of Mill Point Road. It is a formidable looking building with grey overtones but the age of the premises add to the overall charm and feel.

Down To Zero … Lot Six Zero in Yokine that is. We recently said a sad farewell to Gooseberries Café at this location and the new guys seem to know what they’re doing.

You Spin Me Right Round … The Local was formerly Layup, which is a café I’m sure you all remember. The local has inherited the premises and décor wise it is clean, crisp and aesthetically pleasing.

Hesitation Blues … I’ve tried to eat at Kinky Lizard at least four times. Can’t explain why it didn’t eventuate because what’s not to get excited about coffee, great grub, and walks along the Swan river afterwards.

Rock The Casbah … Finally made it to Boucla in Subiaco. This venue offers traditional Middle Eastern, Greek and Mediterranean food all housed in a colourful and creatively styled Café.
