Bites By D, 147 Scarborough Beach Road, Mount Hawthorn, Phone 9444 7712.
Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This Too … Tried Bites By D for the first time at the Mt Hawthorn Streets & Lanes Festival. This is review number two in my collection of three Dessert Cafés and it’s a keeper.
Guylian Belgian Chocolate Cafe, 101 St Georges Terrace, Perth, Phone 6107 8748.
Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This … Guylian, famed Belgian Chocolate makers, have opened a Café in Perth. Yes, it’s true, would I lie to you. The Guylian Belgian Chocolate Café has taken up residence in the Heritage Listed former Western Australian Club building on the Terrace.
The Queens Hotel, 520 Beaufort Street, Highgate, Phone 9328 7267.
It Feels Like Home To Me … Ah, fond memories of The Queens Tavern from way back. Hadn’t visited in a long while and Easter Sunday saw us heading to Highgate. Did I mention the all day $10.00 cocktails?
Lot Twenty, 198 – 206 William Street, Northbridge, Phone 6162 1195.
It’s All Happening … Had walked past Lot Twenty many times and didn’t pay it any attention. Then one day I stopped and looked through the fence and their secret garden caught my attention, big time. Fell in love with the place as I walked through the garden gates.
Posh Nosh … It’s All About That Food. Tiisch in the CBD has only been open a few months. It’s a delightful Café on Milligan Street, and close to Cloisters Square, with lots of greenery and crisp pastel colours. Their signature pale Blue is on everything.
Alfred’s Kitchen, Corner James and Meadow Street, Guildford Wa 6055, Phone 9377 1378
Platinum Anniversary … Congratulations Alfred’s Kitchen on turning 70 years old. This Burger Bar sits right on the railway line in Guildford. In the old days customers would crowd around the open fire to eat their burgers or to slurp their house made Pea and Ham Soup. But things have changed a little since then.
