Three Sisters Vietnamese Tuckshop, 253A Oxford Street, Leederville WA 6007.
Vietnamese Tuckshop … Three Sisters has been open three days. It was a surprise to see the café sitting on Oxford Street, opposite Pappagallo. I veered across the Road to take a closer look and decided to stay a while and try the food.
Noodle Forum Market Stall, Inglewood on Beaufort Night Markets, Monday Nights 6.00 til 9.30pm August til March.
Roving Noodles … Was very happy to see Noodle Forum in their new Market Stall at the Inglewood on Beaufort Night Markets. Noodle Forum has been on my favourite list for quite a while. It’s the hand made noodles that win me over, every time. Oh, and, Chef Wong’s luscious Laksa.
Chilli Panda, Suite 2, 137 Newcastle Street, Northbridge WA 6003, Phone 9228 2966.
Hunan Cuisine … Chilli Panda sits at the edge of the TAFE Precinct on Newcastle Street. This small Café strip caters to hundreds of students and offers up some pretty inexpensive meals. This is a Chinese Restaurant and the surprising décor is anything but Chinese.
D’Big Mama, Malaysian Cafe, Coventry Village Markets, Morley WA 6062.
The Spice Exists on Only One Planet in the Universe … Phew, lucky we don’t live in that Universe. Dune quotes aside, spice is life for me. And, Laksa fulfils that need you sometimes get for a really big spicy soup. Laksa originated in Penang, the broth’s main ingredients are the pod like fruit tamarind and coconut.
Sunshine Cafe Lunch Bar, 683A Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley WA 6050, Phone 9370 1165.
Good Things / Small Packages … Unassuming, modest, restrained and petite but packing a big punch food-wise. Sunshine Café and Lunch Bar in Mount Lawley is a place I’ve walked past many times. But recently I’ve been hearing good things about their Banh Mi and knew it was time to step inside.
88 Noodle Bar, Crown Casino, Burswood WA 6100, Phone 9362 7777.
Chinese Food 3 … Well kind of. Finally we had a day free to try some noodles. 88 Noodle Bar is always busy, the food portions look huge and the décor is lit up for Chinese New Year. Three good reasons to walk in.
Fat Dragon Diner Revisit, 80 Walcott Street, Mount Lawley WA 6050, Phone 9371 8888.
Chinese Food 1 … Decided to get into the spirit of things for Chinese New Year. So headed off to Mount Lawley to revisit Fat Dragon because it’s been a while and I’m going to be eating Chinese Food for the next few weeks. Which may or may not become a tradition with Xena and I.
