Mo:Mo’s Cafe and Restaurant – Nepalese Food

Standard

Mo:Mo’s Cafe, 59c Walter Road West, Dianella WA 6059, Phone 6114 6708.

Surprised … Drove by Mo:Mo’s Cafe and was surprised it was a cafe again. Previously there was a cafe and then a massage place. Intrigued by their sign saying the café produced Nepalese food, I decided I had to try some.

So, the menu was quite large and as I had no idea what to order, I selected Dahl Bhat Masu / Takari. Which in English is Rice, Lentils, Chicken Curry, Saag, tomato chutney, sliced cucumber and carrots.

Nepalese food appears to be very similar to Indian cuisine. This dish was delicious, the chicken was tender and juicy and the curry sauce had a nice heat. Also the tomato chutney was very spicy which added a new level to the food. Loved the Dahl and the saag was a nice touch with the crunchy vegetables.

Mo:Mo’s Cafe offer good home style cooking and it was certainly an appealing meal and a memorable meal.

The cafe is well lit and has a funky vibe. Service was friendly and the wait for take away was not very long.

It was interesting to find this cafe on Walter Road as I was thinking it would be more at home on the Mount Lawley Cafe Strip.

Note September 2016:
Mo:Mo’s Cafe has changed ownership but the Cafe continues to run a similar menu to the original. We haven’t been back for a revisit yet but that will happen eventually.
