Kale pesto … Finding Francoforte Spaghetti Bar is probably the hardest part about dining at this tiny little café. Hidden away in an Arcade off William Street in Northbridge, you’d be forgiven for getting lost. To be honest, I didn’t even know that the Arcade was there and must have walked past is for years.

So, their concept is to offer good quality house made pasta at an affordable price. And, that’s exactly what they’re doing. Couple that with a really nice atmosphere and staff that aren’t afraid to offer quality service and I think they’ve got a winning formula.
Yeah, all that aside, for me the whole experience was about the Kale Pesto Spaghetti. On reading a few reviews of the dish I could not wait to get into Francoforte to try it. We had to wait a short while for a table but we spent the time people watching. Noticed straight away that my choice of the Kale Pesto seemed to be a popular one, not a great thing to notice when you’re hungry and waiting for a table.
Finally seated and served, with a minor hitch of asking for the dish minus the Italian sausage, which eventually was sorted. Wow, crunchy Kale Pesto, al dente spaghetti and the sauce that knocked my socks off. Kale, lemon, pinenuts, almonds and Sardinian Pecorino. Yes, this one’s a keeper.

There is a really nice feel to the place, especially when it’s busy. It’s a cosy venue with a funky vibe.
