Birthday Girl … Xena’s birthday saw us on a little Pub Crawl around the City and Northbridge. But first we needed to have a substantial lunch.

It was easy to please our party of four, we headed to The Conservatory Roof Top Bar. And, as luck would have it, their special of the day was Grilled Salmon and Green Vegetables for $12.50. A definite Bargain.

Food, water and Cocktails were delivered very quickly. The Salmon was beautifully cooked and the vegetables were al dente. So fresh looking and tasting.

The staff were friendly and topped up water continually. It was busy but we didn’t feel like they wanted us to leave. Always nice to feel wanted.

The décor is all grey, black and wood. There are trestle tables with black steel legs and wooden tops that seat 6 or 8. And, tables for 2 or 4 by the window on a small raised section of the room. The view was primarily of the rooftops of old buildings at the King Street end of Perth but it was lovely anyway. There were a couple of BBQs set up to cook the Salmon, we presumed.

So, the girls enjoyed the cocktails while I sipped a glass of fizz an exceptional Prosecco from Italy. The drinks were a good price and we soon had to toddle off to the rest of our adventure for the day.

But first we had to out manoeuvre the very steep steps to return to the ground floor. Which proved to be a feat in itself.  Possibly the longest flight of steps I’ve ever seen but we managed.

Our travels included, Bar 399, The Mechanics Institute and The Brisbane and loads of water. Certainly, it was a great day.
