Healthy and Lush Soups … Always a pleasure to visit a new (to us) place. We used to go to this restaurant when it was called something else and hadn’t noticed it was now serving Vietnamese food and was called Phi-Yen.
We both ordered ‘Mien Ga’ soup with shredded chicken breast, rice vermicelli, bamboo shoots, snow mushrooms, bean sprouts, green onion and coriander. The broth was really tasty, not spicy. There was, however, fresh chilli and Sriracha sauce that you could blend into the soup. The combination was excellent, with the clear broth and i really liked the vermicelli noodles a lot.
So, Phi-Yen staff supplied us with menus and water immediately and made us feel very welcome. The food was very fresh and definitely value for money. Coming in at $28.00 for both of us. The surroundings were comfortable, we sat in the outdoor area overlooking James Street and the Northbridge Hotel. A new favourite.
Oh, and there was a great selection of condiments on the Table. And, that is not something you see everyday. Tickled to see Hoisin Sauce and Sriracha when we first arrived.
