Vibrant Victoria Park … Firstly, was very impressed with the night version of the Vic Park Café Strip. There was a definite hustle and bustle and lots of cafes and bars to choose from. Hence we were spoilt for choice on where to eat and drink.
So, we met up with friends at the Balmoral Hotel for a pre dinner drink and nibbles. We managed to snag a table and purchased drinks and a bowl of olives. The atmosphere was good, and there happy people around us. It seems the hotel is also dog friendly as there were bowls of water about the place. A nice vibe and we were happy with our choice. Will definitely be making a return visit to try the food properly.
The Balmoral Hotel is a Heritage Listed building. It opened in the 1930’s and has had a few different names since then. The design features of the hotel include some classic architectural characteristics of the Inter-War period. Hotels in the Victoria Park district were important as gathering places for social occasions.
Though the Hotel has been extensively refurbished inside and out. The Balmoral Hotel still holds the charm of a lovely building, with a prominent courtyard fronting Albany Highway. And, it’s a great place to sit and sip and watch the world go by.
