Evergreen NYE Garden Party 2015, The Royal on the Waterfront, 60 Royal Street, East Perth WA 6000, Phone 9221 0466.
Pop Pop Fizz … The Royal on the Waterfront in East Perth was host to a new Food Event. Evergreen New Year’s Eve 2015 Riverside Garden Party. Featuring three Street Food Vendors, Free Face Painting, a Burlesque Show, a Charity Auction and more. Admittance was a gold coin for charity.
Actually, the Evergreen NYE Garden Party 2015 took place in the Park adjacent to the Royal. There was loads of shade provided by huge trees. There was a restricted area because the event was licensed. And, a load of security to ensure no under 18’s were being allowed to enter. The enclosed area itself was shady and pleasant.
For me, it was all about the sustainability aspect. Pro-Enviro Wines were selling environmentally friendly sparkling and still wines. There was cider and beer from enviro conscious brewers. Well, don’t mind if I do. Xena opted for an apple cider, from Batlow Cider Co. and I opted for a sparkling wine from Leeuwin Estate Margaret River. The Beer was from Colonial Kolsch also in Margaret River. Absolutely fabulous sparkling from Leeuwin and the Batlow cider was excellent as well.
The food vendors were The Rare Flower Hungarian Street Food, Bangkok Jump Street and Base WF Pizza. The WF stands for Woodfired pizza. The vendors were quite busy, even though early on in the event there weren’t that many people in the enclosure.
Having enjoyed our spot sipping wine and cider on the Waterfront, like Eva Marie Saint, Xena and I sort out some food. We decided on Hungarian and purchased a Garlic Langos and some Potato Dumplings.
The Evergreen NYE Garden Party 2015 event organisers did a fab job. There were baskets full of blankets for people wanting to picnic. Also, low tables for blanket users which was a great idea. And, tables and chairs in the Bar enclosure. Loads of security people making sure things were just right.
I did notice an odd thing, it seemed a lot of people were wearing the same hat. It was intriguing. So, I took a picture of the people near us. But these hats were everywhere around us.
The event finished at 10pm but there was free entry to The Royal on the Waterfront until 2am.
It seemed like everyone was having a fab time, just enjoying the music and the atmosphere. The Party spilled out onto the deck overlooking the water and the wine continued to flow.
