Are you feeling Hot Hot Hot … We found ourselves ducking in and out of the shade on our way to the Court Hotel. Absolutely sizzling hot day in Perth and we were looking for air conditioning. Someone recommended we go and try the food at the Court Hotel, so off we went.
Pleasantly surprised by the décor of the Main Bar. All black and silver and shiny, very nice. There is also a large outdoor space. With both a Bar and a Pizzeria, somewhere to remember for the cooler months. It was little too hot to be sitting outdoors so we opted for the cool interior.
The menu contained some inventive dishes and I quickly chose the Basil and Walnut Pesto Pappardelle. While Xena went for the grilled fish with hand cut chips. Our friend chose the Grilled Peach and Haloumi Salad with Balsamic Glaze. Epic fail that I did not get a picture of the Haloumi Salad, excellent looking dish.
Xena’s grilled fish wasn’t as spectacular looking as the other two. But she assured us that it tasted just fine. And, surprisingly she was unable to finish the food, not something that happens to Xena often.
My Pesto Pappardelle looked stunning and as well as the pesto it came with mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and various herbs. It was a great dish and way too large for me.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. We were very pleased to see a range of sparkling wines by the glass on their wine list. Great to have such a large choice. And, spied a few bottles of proper Champagne in the fridge. There were also water stations on each corner of the Bar. This is my sort of Bar.
By night the Court Hotel transforms into a Nightclub. Offering many live concerts and events. But during the day it is quite a pleasant place to have a bite to eat and sip some fizz.

Built in 1888 the Court Hotel has been Heritage Listed by the Heritage Council of Western Australia, as part of the Northbridge Precinct list.
