Everyday is like Sunday … On deciding to go to the Hobart Deli there was no clue that their food was going to fit me to a tee. Being the type of person who gets excited about a Chick Pea Patty allows me to also understand that some people don’t share my enthusiasm.
Love that all these old corner Deli’s are being revamped into brunch style cafes. And, that there is great coffee being served on a lot of corner locations in the burbs. And, brunch is being served not just on Sundays but all week long.
The Hobart Deli is housed in a gorgeous old building with wooden floors and an open kitchen. It’s always admirable to see an open kitchen, there can be no secrets.
There is fab looking food on display just about everywhere you look. Three different display cabinets of food.
Purchased a gluten free patty that had a long list of ingredients. Too many to name really. Oh, alright then, there was chickpea, quinoa, green beans, corn, spinach and ricotta with eggplant kasundi. This proved to be delicious. Loved that the textures gave me crunch, chew and the creaminess of the ricotta. A very nice meal with the eggplant relish being stand out.
Also purchased a lemon coconut slice and a Cappuccino. All take away. The cappuccino was very strong, very frothy and very enjoyable. The lemon slice had coconut lemony icing and pistachio for an extra crunch on top. Topped off (or bottomed out) with the buttery biscuit base. Excellent.
So, Xena will definitely want to revisit for Brunch. And, it’s nice to know there is a good place for coffee not too far from home.
