Twilight Meeting … It was exciting to be going to a networking event at the Universal Bar in Northbridge. Such a long time between visits.
We were shown to a private function room upstairs and were surprised that there was a full bar in the room. Complete with 8 or 10 beers / ciders on tap.
It used to be a very different sort of place, expensive food and an opulent wine list. Nice to see that the menu is considerably cheaper than it used to be. And, that the food on offer is more Pub Grub than Silver Service.
Nice décor with lots of wood and black and silver furnishings. The staff were really friendly and kept us supplied with drinks. Xena decided the James Squire Orchard Crush Cider was the tipple of the night. How could I refuse.
The food came out quite quickly. And, there seemed to be an endless supply. No hands to take photos, kind of awkward trying to network, eat and handle a camera. So, my attention tuned in to the food.
Usual finger food of samosas and spring rolls. But there were also mini pies and managed to snag both a vegetable and a chicken one. A little more upmarket than normal and delicious.
There was pizza, in particular, a vegetarian one with mushrooms that was pretty special. Interestingly, there was also bread and dips. We managed to quaff a fair bit of guacamole. Delicious.
The final presentation over, business cards swapped, food and drink consumed we departed. Extremely pleasant evening.
