Cool for Cats … This place is cool with a capital “C”. They are kid friendly, the outdoor area has a huge sandpit and chalk for drawing on the walls. I kid you not.
Blacksmith Perth bake everything in house, their coffee machine is the biggest and coolest thing I’ve ever seen. And, Staff are friendly. Decided to stay a while and check out the food.
This review is made up of two visits. The first visit I ordered some Chicken Karaage Sliders. The second visit Xena tagged along for Brunch.
The menu is pretty good, in actual fact, I was at a café very recently which had a very similar ethos. House baked everything, quality engineered coffee and a Karaage Chicken Burger on the menu. Go figure. So alike they could be sister cafes.
The Karaage Sliders came with a generous amount of slaw nestled on the pillowy Bao Buns. The Chicken looked delicious and was really tender. The sliders were demolished quite quickly. And, enjoyed immensely.
Our return visit was very pleasant. Xena opted for Pancakes, now there’s a surprise. I was there to try the coffee and their house made bread, so I opted for toast and spreads and a cappuccino. Exceptional coffee by the way.
Delightful food. The sourdough toast was excellent and the seeded jam was a good combo. The coffee is top notch. And, the small taste of the pancakes I managed to snare was great.
It’s a very popular café so be ready to queue.
