North Beach Deli (Formerly Soda Cafe), 251 West Coast Drive, North Beach WA 6020, Phone 9448 7472.
True Colours … North Beach Deli opened on 1st August. The revamped / rebranded Soda Café is virtually unrecognisable. The light and airy venue, with an enhanced view over North Beach, has the same owners but a different vibe. Love the Pastel Colours and the new Brand.
A quote from the owners explains the decision to revamp; “The Deli will sell home-made produce, pantry essentials, charcuterie, cheese, and house-baked bread. It will also offer a home delivery, catering and dinner-party service.” They have turned this Cafe into something special, in my opinion.
On looking over the menu Xena and I decided to visit, because, Falafel Flat Bread. It was a real treat let me tell you. Oh, and the sandwich came with a tiny fryer basket full of chips. Yum.
In the “Two Hands” section of the menu for Lunch, this sandwich definitely needs two hands, or a knife and fork to eat.
One very large Falafel and an abundance of salad and different flavours made for a non stop taste explosion. Up until this point, if anyone had asked me where I purchase my favourite Falafel I would have been able to answer straight away. But now, I’m leaning towards North Beach Deli’s take on this simple Middle Eastern dish.
Loved the look of their Food Display Cabinet with an assortment of Antipasti, desserts and take home rolls.
I think they’re coping very well, seeing as they’ve only been open a few days. We received water, menus and smiles very promptly. Staff seemed happy and were very friendly. Xena really enjoyed the coffee but for me it was a bit too milky. Next time.
