Bel Giardino … And what a beautiful garden setting they have. Walked through the Garden gate into Cecchi’s Restaurant from busy Beaufort Street and found a calm, peaceful oasis.
There is greenery everywhere, lots of shade sails and rustic looking furniture. The beautiful old building has it’s doors thrown open and you can imagine sitting inside with a view of the Loggia on a balmy night.
Sat and sipped a notable cappuccino and inhaled my surroundings. And it was a pleasure to do so in such a restful space.
I was there for Brunch and it took me quite a while to decide what to eat because there were loads of appealing dishes. Interestingly, I opted for Huevos Rancheros instead of turning to something Italian.
So, as it turned out the meal was fusion with a little touch of Italy combined with this South American / Mexican favourite.
The oven baked egg was nestled in a tomato, red pepper and black bean Concasse. The seasonings did not include chilli but boy it was tasty. There were dollops of mozzarella cheese which had turned gooey and stringy. Oh, and there was also a good sized portion of Guacamole. All I kept thinking was Yum as I ate my way through the dish.
One major point of interest for me was that Cecchis make all their own Bread and that includes Gluten Free Bread.
So, Cecchi’s recently opened a Tapas Bar in the vacant building next door. As well as the usual Cocktails they are offering Tapas. Read the Cecchi’s Tapas Bar review here.
