Sama Sama Malay Thai, 672 Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley, Phone 9271 3408.
Same To You … Sama Sama Malay Thai opened it’s doors a short while ago. They have taken over the premises formerly occupied by Globe Coffee House on Beaufort Street and the coffee remains fabulous.
In the Malay culture if someone says “Thank You” most would reply Sama Sama or Same To You. It’s a lovely name for a restaurant.
Sama Sama Malay Thai offer, as the name suggests, Malaysian and Thai food.
Xena and I shared some dishes and managed to pick something from both cuisines.
First up a Roti Canai for $6.00. Two pieces of crunchy fried flatbread and a small dipping pot of Chicken Curry. The Roti was top notch and combined with the curry sauce made this a nice and cheap treat.
Xena opted for a Thai Vegetable Fried Rice for $12.50 which I presumed would be a little boring. Not the case at all, as the flavours in this Wok made Fried Rice dish were exceptional. To the point where I wanted to eat a lot of it. Definitely something I would return to eat again.
The final dish, an entrée sized plate of Thai Fish Cakes at $7.50. Exceptional chewy fish cakes with a big coriander flavour and Sweet Chilli Sauce for dipping. Yum.
