Nao Ramen, 191 / 580 Hay Street, Equus Arcade, Perth, Phone 9325 2090.
How Soon Is Nao … Nao Ramen has recently moved premises and as any excuse will do to visit this Restaurant, off we went. Oh wait, does this mean no more queues!!
Nao has moved from their teeny tiny venue in Murray Street to a much larger place at the Hay Street end of Equus Arcade. A few long strides should get you there in minutes.
And, it’s a fabulous venue with a long black bar which houses their open kitchen. It’s a sleek, sophisticated place with exposed wooden rafters and distressed walls. Mostly everything is black. Love it.
Queuing for the Ramen at Nao Ramen is something to put up with (happily) just to grab a bowl of their delicious food. This visit, with my friend Michelle, saw us seated straight away. It was pretty crowded but there are just loads more seats.
The noodles at Nao Ramen are made in house in the big machine by the front door. They are excellent and al dente and now there are four flavours Classic, Spinach, Squid Ink and Chilli.
So, the food. Michelle chose a Shoyu (Soy) broth with Chicken and Spinach Ramen. The broth was so good, salty and slurp worthy. The chicken had a sweet taste and was very tender.
The garnishes of hand cut pickled bamboo, seaweed, spring onions were all excellent.
My choice was the Miso broth with Chicken and Spinach Ramen. The broth was heavenly and I definitely ate more than I should have. And, it worked so well with the chicken.
So, is this the best Ramen in Perth, or what!
