Zeus Street Greek, Beaux Lane, 7 / 609 Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley, Phone 9025 4000.
Honest To Goodness … Zeus Greek Street’s business ethos is plain and simple, as they state categorically “We Do Food Honestly”. What does that mean? In short, it means they team with like-minded businesses to produce ethical food.
Their bakers bake daily, their lamb farmers put lambs in a pasture to graze and their potato farmers are four generations in. But you get the idea, they know where the food comes from, it’s kept away from all the bad stuff.
All I know is that when I bit into the Pita bread it was a pleasant surprise. The bread was light, fluffy and made with wholemeal flour. Great bread.
My pick was the Uncle ‘Tzimmy’ Chicken Pita which arrived with Paprika dusted chips sticking out the top. Combine that with some pretty succulent Chicken, seared over charcoal, and toss in some tzatziki, tomato and onion. $11.50.
This is the second place I’ve come across which offer Yiros in Perth and even though they’re a chain, the food is worth queuing up for. Their desserts alone are worth waiting for.
