What’s The Story Morning Glory … Caffeine is my morning glory. And, I was lucky enough to stumble across two fabulous and completely different barista coffee bars recently. Let’s call them the Dynamic Duo.
Telegram Coffee, State Buildings, 28 Barrack Street, Perth, Phone 9328 2952.
Telegram is an apt name for this coffee bar as it sits inside the colossal open foyer of the State Buildings. Right next to Post Restaurant, get it.
I’ve become addicted to Short Macchiato coffees and I think the reason is that despite it’s size the caffeine kick is the same.
This coffee was still quite warm, despite my copious photos and changes in location. Excellent brew and perfectly engineered a very memorable tiny cup of java in a beautiful heritage listed building.

Atomic Cafe, 19 – 21 Mends Street, South Perth, Phone 9368 0990.
Atomic’s space is large as it is situated in a three room building. Located a few doors up from the Swan River but the views are a little blocked from the development close to the foreshore.
But I digress, back to the coffee. So, a Short Mac was ordered and it arrived quickly, which is always a good sign. Loved that the coffee art stayed in place as I drank and it was strong with Crema in the froth.
So, there was also a slice of Banana Bread which made it’s way to my table. A very pleasant dessert even if it was a tad over cooked and the Lurpak butter was a bonus.
