I’m Just Wild About Harry … Newcomer Henry Summer is one of the most beautiful venues in Perth. It was a privilege to sit, sip and eat there and everywhere I looked there was greenery.
Yesterday was a sweltering hot day but Henry Summer was a little retreat, a modern urban oasis, literally.
It’s a summer garden with so many interesting nooks and crannies to sit and relax in. Or, to hide away in.
Love that their menu is themed light and has a good selection of share plates, larger plates and bites. A gorgeous menu perfectly timed for the hotter months.
I believe they wanted to open six months ago but delays with perfecting the venue stopped that happening. They officially opened 4 days ago.
The staff were at ease and the service was excellent. Although in this photo it looks like they’re running away. Believe me they were not and intuitive attention was the name of the game.
So, I ordered a plate of crispy chicken and mushroom dumplings. Ah, dumplings, one of my favourite things to eat and these were excellent.
My attention focussed on the five dumplings sitting in a fair sized portion of Bali satay sauce pleasantly decorated with fresh coriander.
Crispy was definitely the right word, these guys were crispy crunchy on the outside while the filling was tender. Combine that with the peanut sauce and you have heaven, well in my mind anyway.
I broke my December rule and ordered a glass of San Martino Prosecco, I just felt like celebrating and this was definitely the place to do that.
So, the place is top notch as would be expected from Clint Nolan who brought us La Cholita, Sneaky Tony’s and Pleased To Meet You.
