Columbus Where Are You Bound … Halo Espresso is a new, to me, brunch spot in South Perth. Like Columbus discovering America, yeah I know, I zeroed in on this café.
It’s a bustling place with loads of customers but staff are attentive and coffee, water and a menu were soon delivered.
Not really a sugar for breakfast junkie but today that appeared to be a priority. So, I ordered the French toast with Carnarvon bananas, chocolate praline and roasted hazelnuts.
The plate presented well and I was impressed with the sourdough French toast because it was chewy but not soggy and I loved the chocolate sauce. And, that’s three large pieces of chewable, scrumptious egg-soaked bread.
The little extras like a sprinkling of icing sugar and fresh herbs were interesting and I appreciated the freshness.
My short Macchiato was brilliant, super strong but not bitter and the crema was smooth and silky. Lovely.
So, adding “Espresso” to the name of your café bears some weight and the ability to serve up a delicious cup of Joe is not an easy task in this Coffee culture we live in. The evidence, of course, was in the drinking and you guys passed with flying colours.

I really was enthralled by the World Word Map, so different and yet so appealing. Would enjoy having one on my wall at home but don’t worry your map is safe.
