Pronto Caffe & Bar, Shinjuku Towa Bldg. B1, 1F, Shinjuku 160-0022, Tokyo Prefecture, Japan.
It’s Happy Hour Again … We stumbled across Pronto Caffe & Bar in the Shinjuku Food Streets and noticed their Happy Hour sign. You can’t beat good fortune like that.
Pronto is another Japanese chain and there are 267 of them dotted around the Country.
The place was lit by candlelight which made us assume it was a date night type of scene. Lovely venue though, all brickwork and wooden tables.
We ordered a gin and tonic and a Harvey wallbanger which were very well priced, not our usual tipple but lovely drinks.
Pronto has a surprising Italian influenced menu and it seems very popular with the locals.
The place filled up quickly around us so we ordered a plate of Takoyaki, octopus-filled dumplings. They came decorated with green onions and ginger plus a bonus sprinkling of bonito flakes.
The combination of flavours worked very well and texture wise the fried balls were just right. A pleasant plate of food.
So, Xena opted for Fettuccini Alfredo which was al dente, served with parmesan cheese and a delicious butter and cream sauce.
So, we spent about 40 minutes walking around the Food Streets in the freezing cold. Which made it nice to find this warm and cosy place with interesting food and half priced drinks.
