We get out and about and eat from Food Trucks quite a lot. It’s usually easy to find them via their Facebook pages. This particular image displays what I like about the Food Truck ethos. Cook good food, find somewhere shady, set out some tables and serve great food.

Hello Soul Food … Some lovely soul posted me a link to this fairly new Food Van. And, am I glad they did. Soul Cocina Cantina offer Latin American food, including paella, fresh corn tacos, burritos and chimichangas. And, it is exactly what we’d been waiting for, Street Food wise.

Markets on Rokeby … Really like the Markets on Rokeby but todays jaunt saw half the stalls of last time we visited. Not sure what to make of that. But we were there for the food and set out to see what we could find. And, what a find we found.

Markets on Rokeby … Roaming the new Markets on a hunt for food. Today there are half the stalls from previous visits. Not sure what’s going on but we managed to find a few tempting treats to try.

Hungarian Comfort Food … A rare Facebook find had me stumble across The Rare Flower, a new Hungarian Street Food Vendor. They posted that they were serving lunch at a Park in West Perth. We liked the look of the photos of the food. So, off we went to try some.

Street Treats … The Inglewood on Beaufort Markets have turned into the place to be on Monday nights. We hadn’t been for a while and Xena and I were overwhelmed by the choices on offer. There were all our usual favourites and some very new Food Vendors to try.

Market stall … I’m well acquainted with the 2 Fat Indians Restaurant in Highgate and am a fan of their food. So we were pleasantly surprised to see a 2 Fat Indians Market Stall in the City recently. The Twilight Hawkers Market holds many surprises.

Daily bread … The Woodfired Baker used to run their bakery from a shop / café in Maylands but the building was sold. Finding themselves homeless they soon moved into an alternative Bakery and are still producing their famous wood fired breads and pastries. Their bread is made by hand from locally sourced produce which makes it true Artisan Bread. Their motto is they are “A Bakery not a Factory”.

Dahl Kits … First came across Turban Chopsticks while driving past the Hyde Park Hotel and noticed their shop on Bulwer Street. They also have a market stall which can be found at most of the food markets around town.

Rye Bread … Caught up with Breadtime Story at the Victoria Park Farmer’s Market. They had a large selection of bread on display and it was hard to pick just one.

Three Words … Chocolate – Buttermilk – Donuts. Sweet Dream Foods had me at hello when I discovered their signature donut. Chocolate and Buttermilk in a donut with a glazed icing. Well did you ever. Who was the genius behind that recipe! I’d like to shake their hand.
