Chocolate Eclairs … Since the closure of the Subiaco Markets my éclair fix hasn’t been satisfied. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to quite a few favourite food vendors from the Markets. But some of them are starting to pop up here and there. Which is a good thing.

Italian Pizza and Pastries … First came across Dolce and Salato at Charlie’s Fresh Food Market. I was on my way to get my usual supplies of Parmesan and Provolone Cheese when I noticed there was a new shop.

Authentic Italian bread, pizza and more … Used to frequent Benedetto Bakery when it was in Victoria Road. But I had forgotten about it when I moved from the area. Reading a recent review about their bread led me to find them again.

Like Jack Horner, In The Corner … New Norcia Bakeries Café in Mount Hawthorn has been open since the 1990’s. It’s a cheery café loaded with bread and baked goods of all kinds. Oh, and Chicken Pies.

Rye Bread … Caught up with Breadtime Story at the Victoria Park Farmer’s Market. They had a large selection of bread on display and it was hard to pick just one.

Delicious Treats … Our first visit to Francois was a successful venture. The cafe is tucked away in the space that was used for the Leederville Farmers Market. The actual entrance is in the carpark opposite Duende.

Three Words … Chocolate – Buttermilk – Donuts. Sweet Dream Foods had me at hello when I discovered their signature donut. Chocolate and Buttermilk in a donut with a glazed icing. Well did you ever. Who was the genius behind that recipe! I’d like to shake their hand.
